Maybe it won't be the best hotel of Havana nor one of the most expensive ones. But, the Habana Libre Hotel, together with National Hotel of Cuba is classical per excellence. All the events having a certain executive value are held there, maybe out of tradition, maybe due to its privileged position; in fact, the hotel is located right at the Rampa itself, on the corner of L and 23, in the busiest core of El Vedado, the modern downtown of Havana.
The Tryp Habana Libre Hotel includes 572 rooms, among them, 289 overlooking the ocean, 283 overlooking the city and the ocean, 6 are for disabled people, 42 are for non-smokers and there are also 32 junior suites, 4 senior suites, 2 governor suites and one presidential suite. Given its strategic position and given its eight meeting halls with capacity for over 2000 people, the Tryp Habana Libre Hotel is particularly indicated for business trips, but also for tourism in general. The hotel also has four main restaurants: one fast food, other of classical type, another specialized in creole cuisine and the very famous Polinesio, specialized in eastern cuisine. The Hotel also has several snack bars, cafeteria and restaurant buffet, a patio bar, a piano bar and the "Salsa Café" nightclub.
The Tryp Habana Libre Hotel also includes a gym, a hydromassage and hydrotherapy massage hall. The swimming pool has a solarium and a snack bar. Besides, the hotel has its own shopping center, both internal and external, a travel agency, a postal desk, a car rental service, air ticket reservation (and you will also find airline offices such as Air Europa and Grupo Taca), without counting the flawless business center, a real identity of the hotel.
The Tryp Habana Libre Hotel, was originally a Sheraton, today it's managed by the chain Sol Meliá. Definitely it's a post-card hotel but you will be able to understand this while you are admiring the great view from the famous cabaret El Turquino, located right on the last top floor of the building.
