The Beltrán de Santa Cruz Hotel is an elegant house of the 18th century, very near to Plaza Vieja (one of the most beautiful squares of Old Havana) and San Ignacio dtreet. If you are looking for one of the most authentically colonial points of Old Havana, you have arrived at the right place.
The today's Beltrán Hotel was a building built in 1770 by Gabriel Beltrán de Santa Cruz & Aranda, who received in 1770 the title of Count of Jaruco. The mansion's property was successively passed to descendants of one of the most distingushed citizen of Havana, the Count of Cárdenas de Monte Hermoso.
The Beltrán de Santa Cruz Hotel is managed by a restoration enterprise, Habaguanex. All the hotel's profits destined to the historical center's restoration.
The matter of transforming an old colonial mansion into an hotel is not unusual in Cuba, it's rather frequent, since we find many examples of this, not only in Havana, but in other provinces as well. However, in Beltrán Hotel case we are facing one of the best achieved accomplishments on this matter, since the nearness of so strategic places in the core of historical center, make it extremely charming as hotel's option for all those loving art, history, architecture and historical centers.
