Cuba Trekking Adventure (14 days)

Trajectory: Santiago de Cuba-Baracoa-Camagüey-Trinidad-Soroa-Viñales-Havana.

City where the tour starts: Santiago de Cuba.

Day 1: Santiago de cuba
Arrival to the international airport of Santiago de Cuba. Transfer to Las Américas hotel (***). Check in. Dinner at the hotel

Day 2: Santiago de Cuba - Baracoa
Departure to Baracoa. Lunch at the restaurant La Punta in Baracoa, visit of the city by walking. Night at the hotel El Castillo o Porto Santo. Dinner.

Day 3: Baracoa
Trekking for 4 to 5 hours in the mountains of Baracoa, we bring a box lunch, visit of a small rural school, and contact with the local population. Dinner and night at the hotel. Cuban soiree in baracoa with local music alive.

Day 4: Baracoa – Santiago de Cuba
Departure to Santiago de Cuba, lunch at the restaurant El Morro, visit of the ancient fortresses, 16 century, declared World in Heritage by UNESCO. Visit of the old town by walking. Dinner and night at Las Américas hotel.

Day 5: Santiago de Cuba – El Saltón
Departure to villa El Saltón, visit on the way to La Basílica de El Cobre, where the patron saint of Cuba is worshipped. Arrival to El Saltón at noon. Typical lunch consisting of a roasted pork, rice and beans, by a natural pool with a water fall where we can swim. Small promenade in the area in the afternoon. Music in the evening while having dinner.

Day 6: Camagüey
Departure to Camagüey, stop at Bayamo for a visit and lunch at La Bodega restaurant. We continue to Camagüey after lunch. Visit of the city of Camagüey, charming colonial squares dating back from the 18 century. Dinner and night at the Gran Hotel (***).

Day 7: Camagüey - Trinidad
Departure to Trinidad, lunch at Río Azul restaurant, visit of Trinidad in the afternoon, the Plaza Mayor, Canchanchara bar, the city museum of cuba will show us all the charm of the colonial times. Night and dinner at Las Cuevas hotel or Costa Sur hotel.

Day 8: Trinidad
We take a mountain truck to go up on the mountains of the Escambray. Walking for 2 or 3 hours while we see a wonderful water fall, swimming at a natural pool and typical lunch at a local restaurant in a farm. Back to the hotel in Trinidad for dinner, and cuban soiree in town.

Day 9: Trinidad
We take a catamaran to go on a small island with a beautiful beach full of coconut trees and iguanas, snorkeling on the coral reef, lunch on the island. Night and dinner at the hotel.

Day 10: Trinidad - Soroa
Departure to Soroa on Sierra del Rosario mountains at Pinar del Río province. Visit of Cienfuegos city on the way, lunch at restaurant Pío Cua in Matanzas province, not far from the Bay of Pigs. Once we arrive to Soroa we visit a water fall. Dinner and night at Soroa hotel (3 stars).

Day 11: Soroa
Trekking for 4 to 5 hours, visit of local schools and small communities, we bring a box lunch. Back to the hotel (small bungalows well integrated to nature) dinner, music, ...

Day 12: Soroa - Viñales
Departure to Viñales, visit of the city of Pinar del Río and a cigar factory, lunch at a local restaurant in Viñales and walking for about 3 hours in the valley to visit a local farm where the owner show us his tobacco drying house and teach us how to roll a cigar while explaining us the whole process. Dinner and night at at Los Jazmines hotel (***). Cuban dancing soiree in the town of Viñales.

Day 13: Viñales - Havana
Departure to Havana, we visit the capital of Cuba, the old part of the city, walking on the colonial squares, lunch at La Mina restaurant, visit of modern city by bus, stops at the Revolution Square and the National Capitol. Check in Copacabana hotel. Dinner at a restaurant in an old colonial square (bar taberna) with the music of Buena Vista Social Club.

Day 14: Havana
Free time in Havana. Transfer in the afternoon for the airport.

 Depending on the weather, the guide can modify the itinerary.
